There can be no sitting around, wallowing in the misery of a holiday's end. Let's fit as much as we possibly can into that last day - that's the only way to do it. The only perfect ending for this summer's Portugal vacation would be to visit our favorite beaches, eat our favorite food and eat that one more fantastic, fabulous Portuguese final fest. The good thing about traveling around doing all that is that you can reminisce along the way - solidify those memories into your brain that will be there forever. Sure, feeling down during the last day is an easy way to go, but years from that last day it'll be much better to look back and say,
"Man (or it may be best to say "Person" in this day and age's political environment, but you get the point for emphasis), did I make the most of every minute of that vacation, or what!?"
Again - that's the only way to do it.
One more visit to your favorite beach. One more taste of your favorite French Onion soup. One more soak in that crystal clear water that you love - the smell of the sea salt, the gentle beach breeze on your face as the sun shines down over the rugged cliff-side landscape; the sound of the locals enjoying a green wine with you in your favorite neighborhood tavern; the chilled taste of the local village green wine as it touches your tongue; the shockwave of pain through your brain with that first swallow of Medronho; the smell of fresh sardines grilling next to boiled potatoes; the meow of a friendly cat that sounds like a Kardashian; the sound of the waves crashing ashore and the feel of personal friendships that continue to grow.
That's what a last day on vacation is all about.
In the video link below, you'll spend a last day with us just like described above. We had to take one more trip to the beautiful Albandeira beach, the boss Benagil beach, and of course - Carvalho. We visit the town of Alcantarilha for some green wine and soup and then finish off with a feast, after saying goodbye to some feline friends!
There is no life like the good life. That's what I like to say.
Enjoy!!!
